Bathtub Concept Design
Designed by Anna Lines, a student of Billy Blue College of Design
🏆 Staron Design Award Winner 2016 – Concept Category
The concept winner is Anna Lines, a student of Billy Blue College of Design. Anna designed a concept of an organically shaped bathtub made entirely of Staron® Solid Surfaces in the colour Pearl. The elegant bath gently curves into different angles to create s shell-like shape. Anna designed the bath as both a functional and artistic piece.
The water spout has also been thoughtfully incorporated inside curved Staron®. “I chose Staron® as the material due to its extraordinary capabilities to be manipulated into complex shapes and artistic forms”, says Anna.
”This is a lovely, sensuously creative piece. The description perfectly states the reason why it was chosen – ‘I chose the Staron material due to its extraordinary capabilities to be manipulated into complex shapes and artistic forms.’ Well done!.”
Stephen Varady, Stephen Varady Associates.
”It’s as if Anna Lines brought a lucid dream to reality. This design is an exceptionally skilful use of the Staron material and a true demonstration of artistic skill. This tub is a stellar example of how designers should be experimenting with the traditional forms of materials such as Staron. Just a wonderfully creative, inspired and resourceful concept. I would love to see this come to fruition!”
