California Bungalow

The brief for this renovation called for a more functional open-plan living space, including a large entertainer’s kitchen and a generous, minimal bathroom. The owners also had one clear request for the bathroom – no grout lines.

Staron® Solid Surfaces provided a practical solution across both spaces.

In the kitchen, Staron was specified for the benchtops, which extend beyond three metres. Its ability to be joined with inconspicuous seams enabled the long surfaces to maintain a clean, continuous appearance.

The neutral Staron benchtops also provided the backdrop for Acrylic Couture® Malachite Green, selected for the splashback to introduce the bold tropical colour requested by the owners. LED lighting was incorporated to further highlight the acrylic feature.

In the bathroom, Staron was used across the floor and wall surfaces to create the minimal, grout-free appearance the owners were seeking. Its non-porous surface and seamless application also provided an easy-to-maintain solution suited to the streamlined design.

The completed renovation demonstrates the versatility of Staron beyond the traditional benchtop used across kitchen work surfaces and bathroom wall and floor cladding.
