Staron Design Awards

Every year our Staron Design Awards are open to Commercial and Residential projects. In addition to this, a Concept category is in place to embrace creative thinking for solid surface outside of “real life” projects.

The properties of Staron make it the perfect fit for a multitude of design outcomes. Open to Australian and New Zealand projects, the Staron Design Awards offer a platform to celebrate designer’s knowledge and ability to showcase solid surface within the built environment.

*Please note projects using Mario Romano Walls are also eligible to be entered provided the designer showcases the product being used in an exceptional way.

Selina Zwolsman

KBDi | Manager – Design & Communications

As the manager of Design & Communications for the national industry group, the Kitchen & Bathroom Designers Institute of Australia (KBDi), Selina Zwolsman has a bird’s eye view of the very best kitchens and bathrooms across the country.

With her design background, technical knowledge and keen participation in the development of the design profession, Selina offers a well-rounded perspective on all things related to the two most-used spaces in Australian homes.

Andrew enjoys an inclusive approach to projects at the Barrett Group. For more than twenty-one years, Andrew has worked consistently to bring new clients to the business and explore untapped opportunities.

With a Bachelor of Business (Management), a Cert 4 in Contract Management and a Cert 4 in Building and Construction, Andrew brings a wealth of skills to the Barrett Group. These skills make every day a multifaceted adventure.

How to Enter the Awards

Entry to the Staron Design Awards is open to Australian and New Zealand Designers and Architects across all facets of commercial and residential design. Additionally, we offer a concept category to encourage students’ creative thinking for solid surfaces in their assignment-based projects. The Concept category is not limited to students but also welcomes designers and architects.

The awards are open from October of each year, with the winners announced at the end of September the following year. The September cut-off allows the winners to be promoted for an extended duration within the remainder of the year the prize is awarded.

Each winner will receive a cash prize and extensive marketing.

Entering the Awards is Easy

All you need to do is fill in the company or individuals’ details and project information that captures “why” Staron Solid Surface was selected for the application.

To be eligible, entries are required to be a part of Australian or New Zealand projects. All images submitted by the entrant must require ownership or usage permission, allowing Austaron Surfaces and its third-party partnerships to use them in marketing without limitations.

These images must be a minimum of 300dpi (excluding Concept Category

Terms & Conditions: *All images submitted must be owned by the company/person submitting them. Images must not be restricted in usage in any publication. High-resolution images must be supplied with a minimum of 300dpi for an entry to be valid. Entrant must have rights to use photography and permission granted by the project property owner. The Staron® Design Awards is open to any designer or architect who has created an Australian and/or New Zealand project using Staron® Solid Surfaces. The Staron® Design Awards are open each year from 1st November and close on 30th September. All winners will be announced on Austaron Surfaces website. Judging decisions will be based on creative and original designs using Staron® Solid Surfaces. All decisions are final. Entries are open for Australian and New Zealand projects only. By entering the Staron® Design Awards, the entrant/s automatically agree to the following:
1. The project/s being entered has been designed and created in Australia and/or New Zealand.
2. All photography supplied is available in high resolution 300 dpi. All rights to photography are owned by the entrant.
3. There are no current media restrictions with the photography supplied. If the photography is owned by a photographer, all permissions must be granted to the entrant before submitting to the Staron® Design Awards.
4. Only true and accurate information is supplied about all the designers involved in each entry.
